Steel Security Man CC was established in 1993, with a permanent staff compliment of 3, by CJ Viljoen as a one man business to supply and install burglar bars, security doors and security fencing, mainly to residences and businesses in the Alberton area.

The Closed Corporation was registered in 1994. As the product range was broadened with the supply and installation of carports, security gates (manual and electrical), razor wire and electric fencing, they had to relocate to a bigger factory, with a permanent staff of 7.

During 1996, the product range was enlarged with the supply and installation of palisade fencing and access control. Once again premises had to be moved to cope with the increased demand which now includes the whole of South Africa due to tenders being granted by Town Councils and large companies.

At present Steel Security has a permanent staff compliment of 20.
